Lemon, Lime and Ginger Tea

Lemon, Lime and Ginger Tea

Every morning for the last two years, since giving up sugar in fact, I have been drinking Lemon, Lime and Ginger Tea. I believe this drink first thing has amazing health benefits for the body so I thought I would share with you my knowledge of these ingredients and why it is a great drink to have every day.

At the top of my list of benefits is the fact that this tea has the ability to strengthen your immunity. Yes that’s right, Lemon, Lime and Ginger Tea has high levels of anti-oxidants, especially in the ginger. Lemons and limes are also an excellent source of vitamin C which can heal wounds and preserve the strength of bones and teeth. Although I have gum disease my dentist is impressed with the strength of my teeth.

So since giving up sugar and gluten and by drinking this tea I have noticed great improvements in my skin and hair. As I have mentioned before this tea is high in anti-oxidants and vitamins which are brilliant for great skin, hair and health. The tea can improve your digestion which then helps with flawless skin. Drinking a tea like Lemon, Lime and Ginger Tea will help you with your hair problems in a natural way due to the high amounts of vitamins A and C.

When cold and flu season is around, this tea can act as a great antibiotic. If I do get a cold which has been a couple of times this year it only lasts a few days. I believe it’s because I’ve been drinking this tea. The anti-oxidants in lemons can also help to reduce inflammation and arthritis symptoms. Ginger increases the blood circulation in the body as well.

This spice can help with the effects of diabetes too. New research suggests that drinking a tea like this one can reduce kidney damage that may occur due to the effects of diabetes. Ginger has high levels of zinc which helps with the production of insulin. Insulin keeps the blood sugar levels under control thus helping to keep diabetes check.

Finally, ginger is a fantastic way to maintain or lose weight. Ginger helps to normalise blood sugar levels, which if high, could lead to cravings for carbohydrates and fatty foods. So this can affect the body’s ability to lose weight or eat healthy foods. Ginger, when eaten as part of a healthy diet, can absorb and prevent if from accumulating in the body. Again, ginger, lemon and lime have anti-inflammatory qualities that can prevent inflammation. These three ingredients can enhance activity in the liver that can then increase the metabolism and organ functions that help with weight loss.

So this tea is a great way to kick start your day and I have now replaced the morning tea or coffee I used to have with this delicious drink. Boiled water is also a good way to flush out any toxins that have built up over night and this will help the liver wake up and function in the morning. I have a cup of this tea every morning but I also have it in the afternoon as well. It’s great after a big meal or just as a refreshing drink instead of tea. Well worth a try.

For me, the tea in the morning is a great way to wake up the whole system but especially the liver. I find it so much more refreshing than drinking tea or coffee. It’s as quick as making a cup of tea or coffee and it’s a really simple recipe. Plus, it could be left to cool completely and it could be drank as a delicious cold drink too. However you decide to drink this tea, as always, please enjoy.
