Weymouth is a picturesque part of the world with an amazing coastline and brilliant sandy beach. (According to my father in law it has the best sand for building sand castles.) It’s a great holiday destination for anyone wanting to escape city/town living for a while.
During the half term holiday my son, husband and I decided to go on an adventure. The first stop Wiltshire for one night to see friends and then onto Ilfracombe in Devon with my husband’s University friends. Our final destination was Weymouth/Dorchester in Dorset to visit the in-laws.
It was a brilliant nine day escape and our last stopping point was made even better by a holiday home with a view. My husband researched places to stay in Weymouth on Air BnB and he found a beautiful flat with an amazing view of the sea. The flat is situated about 5 minutes walk from the sea and a 10 minute walk from the town centre.
When we arrived at the flat after a long car journey from Devon, we were greeted by the owners who helped us carry our heavy bags up three flights of stairs. As you enter the flat to the right of the stairs at the front of the flat is the master bedroom. Across the small hallway is the living area and this is the room that has a stunning view of the beach and sea.
Along the corridor and down three steps is a small room with bunk beds and across from that room is the kitchen again with the view of the sea. In the mornings when we were in this flat we didn’t really need the central heating on, even though it was February because the sunshine was streaming through the windows. It made the room very warm and this made me happy. I’m really not a cold weather person and I love a lot of sunshine in my life.
When walking back across the corridor to the main living area on the left was a small bathroom with a bath and shower. I have to say that I like a hot, power shower in the morning and the shower did just that. The flat itself is at the top of a grade two listed building but it is not dark and gloomy. In fact it is a very light and airy space that instantly felt like home to us. It is also very modern and clean. For us we would give this property 5/5 and I would love to go back one day.
